The Day Creek Coyote Band is our 8th Grade performing group. Students in the Coyote Band are generally in their fourth year of experience on their instrument. The Coyote Band class builds on skills gained in the Concert and Symphonic Bands.
Coyote Band students are eligible to try out for the San Bernardino County Middle School Honor Band. The class prepares students for this audition. The Coyote Band has generally represented our district very well in this elite group.
Students in the Coyote Band will learn nine major scales, as well as other more advanced musical techniques. They will perform music in a variety of styles, and from different historical periods.
Students are expected to practice approximately 20 minutes per day. Practice expectations will be posted on this page for student and parents to reference.
This is an elite performance group and is recognized as being among the finest in the area. The musical literature covered in the class is advanced. |
